Barron Mortgage Company was founded in 1986 by Thomas Barron, a 37-year resident of Marin County. The company has expanded at a moderate rate, being selective in its hiring of mortgage sale agents. Today there are nine agents, one loan administrator and two processors.
Our use of local consultants in such fields as industrial relations, accounting, financial planning, legal matters, and bookkeeping, has enhanced and expanded Barron Mortgage Company’s professional team reputation.
Tom Barron, the broker on record, has been involved with various aspects of Bay Area real estate since 1975. He has two master degrees in real estate and finance from Golden Gate University. He was founding president of both the Marin Mortgage Brokers Association in 1987 and the North Bay Chapter of the California Association of Mortgage Brokers in 1990.
Donna Barron, a principal in the firm, has been a mortgage agent since 1989. From 1986 to 1989, she was the processor for the company. Prior to this she was a marketing consultant to financial service companies for 15 years. Her marketing expertise is an important aspect of the company’s success, and her leadership and forecasting expertise guide Barron Mortgage through our continually changing economy.
Eric Leithliter, the loan administrator, has been with Barron Mortgage since February, 2003. He has attended outside processing and underwriting seminars and monitors all loans and disclosure requirements through the system. Each loan package is reviewed by the agent and then signed off by the broker prior to lender submission.
Barron Mortgage Company’s primary market is Marin County, but includes all the surrounding nine bay area counties. We do loans anywhere in California, and have done loans in Hawaii as well. As licensing arrangements permit, we have the ability to do loans in almost every state.
Barron Mortgage Company supports many non-profit and charitable organizations in the county. Agents serve on a number of Boards of Directors such as the Marin Advocacy for Children, Marin County Senior Coordinating Center, and Marvelous Marin Breakfast Club. They are active members in such organizations as Rotary, Lions Club, Business Network International, and the Mill Valley, San Rafael, Novato, San Anselmo, and Fairfax Chambers of Commerce.
